does lime damage asphalt or cement or slate? | |
I am concerned about the lime that I will spread on my grass. I spilled some on my driveway that is partially asphalt and partially concrete/cement. It appears that it may have damaged the asphalt. What will happen when i am actually spreading the lime and some will definitely get onto the asphalt /cement driveway and also my slate walkway? will it damage any of these ?
Answers:
1if you sweep it off you should be OK. it shouldn't damage the asphalt or slat it would only stain them and that will take a while to go away. the cement has lime in it so it wont effect that. water breaks down the lime so don't rinse until after you swept most of it up. if you are using pulverized lime are you using a drop spreader? you should be able to control it enough to not get it on anything.
