What would be the optimum depth/type of base for a new paving?



I am having a new ashphalt pad installed in my carport (S. Florida location). What are the proper depths, layers, base, etc. that should be installed by the contractor for optimum durability/use?

it really depends on the kind of surface you are putting the new pavement on. the contractors should know what should the optimum layers, depths etc.
