i have a concrete driveway and am going to have 2 inches of type d asphalt overlaid on it. can you please tell me what tac coating is and what it does? also does the entire driveway need this done before the asphalt goes on? thank you, tom rego

tack coat is an asphalt bonding product that is used for construction primarily for asphalt coating. this makes the asphalt bond efficiently for longer periods. as for your second question, i think it is recommended for this to be done on the whole of the roadway since without tack coating, the asphalt easily deteriorates thus decreasing the road's safety.
