What is the best way to remove an asphalt driveway? | |
We are thinking of buying a house that has part of the driveway going around the front of the house. Thus, there is no front lawn. The asphalt takes up the width of the front yard (house to street). We really like this house. This would not be a project in the near future, but we are still interested in what it would entail. Our essential goal would be to plant grass in place of the asphalt, allowing for better curb appeal.

an excavating machine (bobcat/skid-steer)would be ideal for a driveway removal. the bucket blade will get under the asphalt, it can then be lifted breaking in chunks small enough to haul away. top soil can be laid directly after asphalt removal. Once soil is laid and packed lightly you may seed new grass or lay sod. can easily be done in one day
