Can I have asphalt applied over concrete?

Concrete has cracks and I'd like to cover it with asphalt or another layer of concrete. Would this work?

yes, you can lay asphalt over cement a bonding sealant must be used to prevent separation

From: Summit Paving

If your concrete has cracks in it and you pave over it then sooner or later (probably sooner) the same cracks will reflect through the new surface. In the industry it's called crack reflection. It's usually caused by different rates of expansion/contraction between the two substrates and is more prevelant in colder climes.
Hope this helps.
