Does motor oil dripping from a vehicle harm asphalt (driveway)? | |
The dripping vehicle- a Jeep - drips a small amount of dirty oil on my driveway when parked on it overnight. It leaves stains that I cannot remove, no matter what product I use (tried 5-6) but my main concern is the possible corrosive effect of oil on asphalt. I understood that oil does damage asphalt but the owner of the Jeep says it doesn't - that oil is so close to asphalt, in the heirarchy of distillation, that it won't harm it. Who is correct?

Yes it does. If you sealed it with our Liquid Asphalt Sealant it would create a fuel resistant coating which would add about five years to the life of your drive and create a consistant colour throughout. Available in Grey / Black, Red or a delightful green!
