1" asphalt crack beside a concrete building... any special instructions?

hello.

i need to fix 1" crack in an asphalt drive. the crack runs along a concrete building. my question is this: will i need to use a special asphalt mix and patching compound for this? i know that concrete and asphalt expand and contract differently. should i just fill the crack using the instructions found in the "repair" section of this site?
