alternative use for asphalt sealer

on the surface (no pun intended), asphalt sealer seems like an easy and relatively inexpensive way to transform an aging concrete driveway into a thing of beauty. the satin -black finish of most driveway sealers i've seen is much more asthetic than mildew-covered concrete.
is it practical, then, to use driveway sealer to perform this conversion? thanks.

i've done this before and nothing surprising happened. but you can do this. it is pretty much going to be okay. i see you are trying to save money here which is good.
