What can I use to strengthen and seal recycled asphalt on my driveway? | |
Last year I finally had sewer run up to my house. Prior to that I was on septic. The contractor had to run the sewer line up the center of my driveway as there was no other options for running the sewer line. The house is on a panhandle lot. My driveway is paved with asphalt and where he ran the sewer line it left an ugly dirt trench up the center of the driveway. Just recently I was able to repair the crappy cutting job that the contractor did and as well replace 4 inches of the old fill with recycled asphalt. The after shot of the driveway is amazing and I would like to keep it that way, obviously with some maintenance. The trick is the recycled asphalt is exactly crushed up asphalt, basically another form of road fill but it compacts better. I am looking for a product that I can use to help strengthen this recycled asphalt. I know about asphalt sealers, but I am looking for something that will strengthen more than the surface. I would like an inch or two or even more, down into the recycled asphalt to be strengthened, a resin, glue or something along that line. Once that is accomplished then I would use a sealer on the whole driveway as well as the blacktop paint to help preserve the driveway. At the moment any ideas and product suggestions would be appreciated.

have a contracter get some material called ss1h emulsion its called tack coat have. him put 40% water and 60% material spray it once then come over it again with a heavy coat after first coat drys stay off it 2 days it will be as hard as a driveway installed with hot asphalt but wait a year or so and have a contracter apply a regular driveway sealer and repeat every 2 years .
