How do you get driveway ashpalt off a white garage door? | |
A contractor did our driveway last year and obviously splattered aspalt on our new white garage door. How can we remove it without damage to the white finish.

degreaser will dissolve the bitumen. i assume that your door is colorbond steel, so degreaser will not affect the finish. use a spray can, let it soak for 5 minutes, then spray again, repeat until it comes off. to speed process place a fan heater behind the door to warm it up (but not too much). hose off with water when finished. if it is stubborn scrub it lightly, not too hard or you will scratch the finish. i use a lot of contractors and am amazed at how many of them leave a mess behind. in future dont pay them until they clean up, but let them know what you expect before the job commences. cheers.
