how can i figure how much asphalt i need i end up with to much or not enough?

Take your square footage, divide this by 80. This will give you the tons required for a 2" thickness for the area. The real trick is to have your area correct and your grading "spot-on" so the thickness that you are estimating is what you are actually using.
