States have different limits on tempeture. California says for base course it's 45 deg. F And 50 deg F for top lift. I have seen asphalt layed at 32 deg F and it came out just fine. It's not so much the tempeture, but how soon the roller gets on the mat, and the wind chill. You want to make sure you can compact the material before it gets cold.
